We had such a neat English lesson today.  It started out with diagramming simple subjects and predicates and morphed into an overview of the life of Fanny Crosby.  Rod and Staff is such a neat curriculum.  It gave 1g10 thirteen sentences to diagram but instead of being nonsense sentences, it was essentially a paragraph on Fanny Crosby. There was just enough info to pique her interest into who she was.  So, out comes the laptop and a quick google search gave all three girls a little insight into this wonderful woman's life.  It's amazing to me how she used her 'disability' of being blind to the glory of God - without complaint!

The most amazing thing that we read today was what she had to say of her own blindness.  About it she said:  "It seemed intended by the blessed providence of God that I should be blind all my life, and I thank him for the dispensation. If perfect earthly sight were offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me."
What a simply amazing woman!
